“Transcendence” proves that luff trumps all

Overall rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Sub-genre: Prehistorical

Trope: Soul mates/Time travel

If you want a sexy “Me Tarzan, You Jane” epic love story that transcends time and language then this book is for you.

Needless to say I luffed (loved) this book. It was intriguing to have the story narrated entirely from Ehd’s point of view. He may have been a primitive caveman, but he was so incredibly sweet and endlessly patient with Beh (aka Elizabeth). After rescuing her from his pit trap, she quickly became his entire world and he did everything in his power to make her happy and respect her wishes. A hot, respectful, hardworking guy who’s entirely devoted to you? Sign me up! Best book boyfriend ever.

I don’t know if the history in this book was entirely accurate, but frankly I didn’t care. Reading how Ehd and Beh’s relationship developed from being strangers from completely different worlds to an epic love story that overcame time and language was such an amazing literary journey. “Beh luffs Ehd” is my all time favorite line!

Initially, I worried that this was going to be another YA romance with little to no heat, but boy was I wrong! There were LOTS of steamy sex scenes. And Chris Chambers made them even hotter with his decadent voice. The book was a bit of a slow burn, but it was certainly worth the wait. Also, Ehd being a hard-up virgin made it even more so.

This book transcended all my expectations. I ended up reading it three times and I even caved and bought the short-novel sequel, which was written from Beh’s POV.

Bottom line is: if you haven’t read this book already then do yourself a favor and do so. The audio version was excellent as well (also available on Hoopla), Chris Chambers is very talented and was the perfect voice for Ehd.
